Leicester Canine Society Open Show (1)

A happy judge with his beautiful Best of Breed winner (and group 4) Mossbawnhill Whatta Myth

It was a great pleasure to judge Whippets, Borzoi and Rhodesian ridgebacks at the Leicester City Canine Society Open Show. Below some pictures from my winners:

My great ring stewards who made everything run smoothly.

My final selection in the puppy class. A very strong class with some very nice puppies a promise for the future.
My Winners in Junior class: 1) Jenaul Nutella of Nevedith, beautiful type nice top and underline, nice low hocks and correct mover from all angles. 2) Selinko Kira's Girl 3) Derohan Beyond Desire 4) Derohan Viking Flagship, some nice dogs also in this class some could use a little more training but overall quality was OK, nice toplines and most in good condition. Only thing that worried me is that I saw some dogs with very small eyes wich really spoils the expression and some could have stronger underjaw.

My winners in puppy class: 1) Supeta's Eclipe (who later won BIS Puppy under Mark James) 2) Citycroft Supanova 3) Chaseover Bet You Dare - Three very nice young whippets my number one is a very feminine girl with excellent head and exspression, nice outline and for her age very sound movement. Number two is about the same quality but nr. one just asked for the number one spot with her attitude and presence. My number three could have been first if he performed better and showed his movement. He is a gorgeous boy super type nice outline and pretty sure we hear more from him in the future
A very big entry in open class with some lovely dogs. It was a pity the ring was a bit small so not really possible for the dogs to show their movement.

My winners in open class. A nice group of whippets, lovely size and type. 1) Mossbawnhill Timeless Epic from Ribblesmere, 2) Supeta's Dazzalicious 3) Yialousa Scarlett Ribbon 4) Turn of Gold at Yantabella 5) Crosscop Infatuation
My BOB puppy with the Whippetly Yours Calendar for the  winners.

Open class 1,2,3,4 - It was a pleasure to see so many nice dogs in the ring and overall quality was very good. My winners all have the so typical S curves and moved OK. Most had pleasing heads only some had very small eyes and muzzle could be stronger. Some dogs in the ring could also have more elegant and longer necks wich is so typical for a whippet. The standard asks for a long, muscular, elegantly arched.neck and not for a short thick neck. Temperament and condition of most dogs was very good some lacking a bit of muscle tone.
And on left my Best of Breed winner Mossbawnhill Whatta Myth and on the right my Best of Breed Puppy (also BIS Puppy all breeds) Supeta's Eclipse. My BOB winner a 19 month old boy caught my eye the moment he walked in the ring. Excellent type, very sound masculine dog with a nice head and expression and good strong underjaw, super neck and placement, excellent shoulders, nice top and underline, good strong hindquarters and nice well developed second thigh, strong feet, good coat and condition.
